Dave Brockie dead at 50 Lead Singer Of Gwar

Dave Brockie the lead singer of Gwar died this Sunday at the age of 50. According to manager he died  on Monday.
He was the part of HEAVY METAL BAND which was formed in 1984, billing itself as "Earth's only openly extra-terrestrial rock band.
His band mate found his body at his home in Richmond, Virginia.



Jack Flanagan manager of Dave Brockie said in a statement on the group's website.

"An autopsy will be done to determine why he died, Flanagan said.
Brockie performed as Gwar's frontman under the persona of "Oderus Urungus." The band was based on a mythology of an "elite group of chaos warriors" who "ravaged the galaxy" until they were "banished to the most insignificant planet in the universe ... the seething mud ball known as Earth." "My main focus right now is to look after my band mates and his family," Flanagan said. "More information regarding his death shall be released as the details are confirmed."

Gwar is a satirical thrash metal band formed in Richmond, Virginia in 1984. The band is well known for its elaborate science fiction/horror film inspired costumes, obscene lyrics and graphic stage performances, which feature humorous enactments of politically and morally taboo themes.
